Bright colors!

Hello everyone!

I have some bright cards for today! At first I was reluctant of the color combination, but once I got started, I could hardly stop! I think that two cards are enough, though. 

{Thank You So Much} card   

Supplies:

~ Cardstock, Stamps: Papertreyink;

~ Ink: Stampabilities;

~ Ribbon and Buttons: personal collection (unknown source);

~ Punch: Fiskars.

Instructions:

Trim yellow cardstock to create a A2 card base. Stamp bloom images in the bottom left corner. Stamp sentiment on card base. Trim a piece of pink cardstock and punch the lower edge with upper crest punch. Cover the pink cardstock with stamped leaves images in black, creating a background. Tie ribbon around the pink cardstock and adhere to the upper part of yellow card base with dimensional foam adhesive. Add buttons to the center of each bloom image with glue dots. 

{Celebrate} Card

Supplies:

~ Cardstock: Papertreyink;

~ Stamps: Papertreyink;

~ Ink: Stampabilities;

~ Floss: Rainbow Gallery;

~ Buttons: personal collection (unknown source). 

Instructions:

Trim pink cardstock to create an A2 card base. Trim a yellow cardstock piece and punch the lower edge with upper crest punch. Stamp the dot images on yellow cardstock, then mat on the pink card base with dimensional foam adhesive. Stamp a dots image on an extra piece of yellow cardstock, then cut it in a rectangular tag and stamp the sentiment. Round corners on tag and punch holes on each side. Run floss through the holes and around the base of the yellow cardstock. Adhere the buttons to the center of the dots images with glue dots.

Tomorrow, my sweet little boy is 8 weeks old! If you had told me that after 8 weeks I'm going to be alive and sane...I would have hesitated to believe you. But here we are, happy and well and sleeping longer at night, that's the most important. Only once in a while, like yesterday, I have a passing temptation to never get out of the shower, to stay in there forever. But I couldn't do this to my family and I imagined my son, in ten years, wondering who's that lady covered in moss and mold in the shower. Besides, I would run out of hot water.

The Playdate Cafe Color Challenge {With a Splash of Orange}

Hello everyone!

We had a good weekend. It was rainy and cool and I can't believe our fortune! We are "supposed" to be in the 80-90 F, but it's a perfect spring weather for walking, picnics among these gorgeous southern Texas wild flowers. 

My son didn't like the weather so much though...Come Monday, he went down with a runny nose. Why didn't anyone warn me about this because when I saw him gasping for air, it was the most panicky moment of my life. I soon realized (not as soon as my husband would have liked) that is not "life-threatening". We had some good moments last night, nursing in the steamy bathroom and using the suction bulb. But he's much better now.

I have a card for the newest The Playdate Cafe Color Challenge #25 {With a Splash of Orange}. I showed my husband the first card I made and he said "Splash of orange? This looks like it's been dunked in orange." So I reconsidered the amount of orange I used and came up with this:

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge {Celebrate Parties}

Hello everyone,

I'm back with a quick post, but not with a quick card. Although simple, it took me quite a bit to finish. But I won't complain about it anymore, enough..I bet everyone of you is so busy and still find time to make some wonderful stuff. 

This card is for the latest Embellish Color Challenge {Celebrate Parties}. I only made a card, because...ooops, here comes the whining again :-)... didn't have time for more.

A Card for EBTKS Challenge {with String}

Hello again (finally!),

Although I did find some time to browse some blogs and get inspired by so many wonderful projects, I needed at least 3 days to make and post one card, from beginning to end. This is one thing I have to learn better: that I might not have time to make something complete in one sitting, so I might have to work in little pieces. 

I made a card to the latest EBTKS Challenge {with String}.  I know I didn't use the string in a very original way, but I still have some ideas for another card and hopefully I'll get to finish a more "string-original" one in time! :-)

Mircea is doing great! He advanced from the N to 1 diaper size and today his umbilical cord stump fell off! 

He is such a joy to us, to watch all the faces he makes when he wakes up, when he eats, when he sleeps. He has no idea yet how deeply his simple presence in our lives affects us. Sometimes I stay awake at night and fantasize about what kind of torture I would subject someone that would dare hurt him in any way. I used to laugh when James told me when I was pregnant that he would buy some netting for the stroller so the birds of prey wouldn't get to Mircea...now I'm asking him when are we going to go shopping for this stuff.

MoxiFab World ~ Diggin' on Doilies

Hello again! 

I've been eyeing this patterned paper from CTMH for quite some time, but I was never sure what I wanted to do with it! It was perfect for this MoxiFab World Challenge, Diggin' on Doilies. 

I made a fairly simple card, because I wanted the patterned paper to be in the center.

MoxiFab Tuesday Trigger

Hello everyone!

First of all, Mircea is doing great! We had our two-week visit last week and I was watching the scale with fear, as I wasn't sure if I was feeding him enough...This was only one of my "fears". My husband rolls his eyes, lovingly I might add, every time I start a conversation with "I'm worried about...".   He exceeded his birth weight by 3 ounces, so the doctor said he was doing great, getting enough to eat. 

We haven't gone out farther than a little walk around the block. I wonder if it's safe to take him out in the world yet. Don't ask my husband, he even suggested we buy some netting for the stroller, so no birds of prey can get to him...It's beautiful Spring outside (unusual weather for southern Texas; last year at this time it was already scorching hot), so we have to go out for a picnic or something...

I'm catching up with some FUN challenges over at MoxiFab World.  The first one I tried my hand at was this week's Tuesday Trigger. 

Have you even seen a picture and instantly you knew how it inspires you? I had this with this card. Once I saw the Tuesday Trigger, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.
