Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #34

I had to struggle with the computer for a little while, but I really wanted to be a part of the #34 challenge. So I'm just going to post the pictures of the cards, then take a nap (so very tired....), then go to our church Christmas pageant, then come and add some more information to this post.

~ Thank You!~

Tea Bags Advent Calendar

My husband is a big tea drinker. So I thought I would make an Advent Calendar out of tea bags.

For this I needed:

~ a few of different kind of tea bags (according to how many days there are 'till Christmas);

~ punched tags out of cardstock ( I like the scalloped punch, but you can use any kind of shape);

~ glue;

~ any kind of numbers: rub-ons, embellishments...your choice;

~ tiny Christmas decorations that would fit on the new tag.

I glued the original tea tag in between two scalloped tags. Then on top I glued a punched patterned paper, then rubbed on the numbers, along with some snowflakes. Then I decorated the original tea box in Christmas colors. I went on the simple side, with the colors that my husband loves, but you can go as jolly as you like!!!

I also kept the tea kinds secret, so my husband has a nice surprise every December morning! :)

My first Color Inspiration Challenge - Kristina Werner's #33

"My first"...I have said these words a lot lately, since I decided to stretch my horizons in Card Making and take up on some challenges.

For this one I have the impression I am swimming with the big "sharks", but I hope they won't mind a little fish floating along! :-)

The colors took me aback a little, but I still dug in my card stock and paper stash and picked the best one I could find.

I used:

~ ColorCore for the pumpkin orange card stock;
~ DMD - Paper Revelations for Teal;
~ DCWV for the light teal and celery patterned paper;
~ RibbonFX satin brown;
~ White snowflake from....shoot, I threw the package away...

~Thanks for the inspiration!~

Christmas cards

I have always loved the "all-over" holly layout. I found an inspiration in the November issue of Cardmaker and I made my own. I've got a lot of lace and buttons from my husband's grandmother, so I could say this card is "vintage" :-)

The black-and-white Christmas card was on my mind for a while, too. It looks maybe a bit "gloomy", but I love the basic look.

Sketch inspiration by Jen del Muro - Noel Tree

I went ahead last night and made a card for my very first sketch challenge!

It's one proposed by Jen del Muro, an excelent card maker!

Here is what I came with!

I used paper from Paper Studio and RibbonFX organza burgundy.

I still don't know how to play with pictures and text in a posting! They seem so fixed and I cannot move them around like I'd like to. I would appreciate some ideas! :-)

Fall into Thanksgiving!

I love fall colors. I wish all holidays had fall colors! :-)
I should be done with Thanksgiving cards by now,
but I'm still making, more and more :-)

I'm working on my blog. Some handmade card blogs
are OUTSTANDING. A lot to learn from the masters!

I bought my first scalloped punch two days ago and
I'm running around the house punching everything.
 So excited!

To make the cards I used
~ ColorCore Cardstock - Nostalgia
~ Paper Studio Paper
~ RibbonFX organza burgundy and double faced
satin burgundy
~ TC Thanksgiving embossed stickers
~ Paper Studio round brads

"Thank You" Card

This is my very second card. (I think I'll stop the count).

Last week, my husband and I had an intimate dinner with some family and friends, to celebrate our marriage. We are more "low-key" people, so we didn't want a big wedding. Because of a misunderstanding, we didn't get the room we booked. Everything else was a little hassle since then, until we sat down to eat. So I didn't have the chance to take some proper pictures of the decorations I made for my wedding table.

After everything was over, I felt the urge to make a "Thank you" card for the guests.

This is what I came up with!

Materials I used:

- pink patterned card stock (The Old World Stack, DCWV, textured);
- dark red (burgundy) card stock;
- wired pink ribbon (Offray);
- two shades of pink narrow ribbon (American Crafts);
- two music notes brads;
- pre-cut paper butterfly (K&Company);
- sheer paper;

I cut the pink patterned card stock in a card size that I desired.(I forgot to measure again!)

I wrapped a piece of wired pink ribbon around it (on the upper part). I cut a square off the ribbon and put a piece of the dark red card stock underneath, with the pre-cut butterfly glued on top. (in the image, the butterfly has a piece of sequin on the right...I found one of the floor, fallen from my clothes, and I didn't want to throw it away!)

I wrapped two pieces of narrow ribbon around the wired wide pink ribbon. I attached the music notes brads on them.

With a piece of dark red card stock and sheer paper, I wrote my message.

I hope you like this one, too!!

Congratulations to the Parents-to-be!

This is my very first card.

Not too long ago, I got a call from a dear friend of mine. "I'm pregnant!" she confessed. I was so happy for her! Of course, my joy was an enough excuse to make a card.

For this card I used:

- a dark -red (burgundy) card stock
- a pink shade flowery mat stack prints (sticker paper)
- a wavy dark pink ribbon, "American Crafts"
- a heart-shaped decorative stencil, "Crafts Etc."
- two pink buttons
- a sheer sheet of paper.

I cut the burgundy card stock in a rectangular with the dimensions that I desired (all right...I don't remember, I'll be better next time! :-) )

I cut the pink shade flowery mat stack print in a rectangular with the dimensions 6.1/2 '- 5.1/2 '. I sticked it on the lower side of the burgundy sheet (it's self adhesive).

I cut some wavy dark pink ribbon, glued it (with Glue Stick from The Paper Studio) on the upper line of the self adhesive print.

I cut a round shape out of a sticker paper sheet (pattern with alternating dark and light pink rhombuses), then cut a square of it off, to give the general shape of a baby carriage.

I used two light pink buttons for wheels.

I used heart-shaped decorative stencil to cut a cute heart from the same paper with the background card stock and hang it on the ribbon.

I used a little piece of sheer paper to write my message for my friends.

Please see the picture for reference.

I hope you like this card!!

I'd like some input on something: what kind of glue could I use so it's not so obvious on the back of the sheer (transparent) paper? Thank you!
