Today is my second Blogoversary!

August the 4th.

In 1693, Dom Perignon invents Champagne {Cheers!}. In 1830, the plans of the city of Chicago laid out. In 1862, the US Government collects its first income tax.

In 2008, I made MY FIRST CARD. Here it is!

It's been an amazing journey so far. Card making has helped me in ways I have never expected.

I have always struggle with noticing details. They could be right in front of me and I would miss them. I am more of a bigger picture person. After two years of making cards (where, let's be honest, the battle is won in the little details), I could literally sit down for a couple of hours working on a details of a project with no pain. The emphasis is on no pain. Because I've been dealing with a lot of details before in my life, but it's been always painful. I remember the first time I had to write a scientific article in grad school, I got sick. For real! My body fought it as an illness.

I have met some incredibly talented ladies in the blogosphere. Ladies that inspired me with their stories of their family, their children, their own journey though life. They taught me that no matter how hard life gets, there is always a little bit of energy and creativity to make a card!

That's why, for everyone out there who stumbles (or comes on purpose!) on my blog today, I'm offering my absolute favorite stamp set so far, Papertreyink's Guide Lines 2

Please leave a comment to this post until next Wednesday, August 11th 2010, 11.59 pm, about the first card you made, if you remember, about how you decided to start making cards or a memorable moment in your card making journey...anything that had to do with card making.

The winner will be chosen randomly. {Unfortunately, this contest is open only to U.S. residents, as the cost of shipping outside of the U.S. is too much for my budget right now.}

I am looking forward for many more years of browsing beautiful cards on line and making some myself. I'm actually very curious how this is going to "evolve" from now on!

THANKS for stopping by and I'll see you soon!

Congratulation for your second blogoversary.

I don't remember when I made my first card. But I got seriously in this wonderful hobby because of you, less than a year ago. Thank you very much.

Two years! Congrats!! I am so happy we were able to meet in real life!

I think my first card was probably something I made for my mom or grandmother as a child. But now it's been so long since I've made a card that after we move and unpack, it will feel like I'm starting all over!!

Wow, you've transformed quite beautifully over your two years. I remember my first card making experience. I made them all into postcards because I was too cheap to make the actual cards. Hah! How times have changed. That set looks awesome, thanks for the opportunity.

Congratulations, Daniela! So glad you stopped by to let me know about your blogoversary! My first experiment in card making was about a year and a half ago. I decided to make some Valentine's Day cards to send to family, with pictures tucked inside that my daughter colored. I've come a long way since then, and I've loved every minute! Thanks for the inspiration, and the chance to win such a fab prize!

oh shoot I forgot to talk about my first card! I remember it really well, though. It was probably 2004 and I had been seriously scrapbooking for about a year. I took a class at Camp Memory Makers which was to make a layout and a card. The teacher explained that when you're done your scrapbook page and you've got all these scraps and embellies that all coordinate out on the table you should just go ahead and make some cards with them. It was an "aha" moment!

Happy Blog Birthday to you! Two years! Wow! You'll have to total up how many cards, as well. :)

My first card was done with a Stampin' Up set, and was really pretty basic and sad. I tried to color it with crayola markers (all I had at the time!). Let's just say I never gave that one away. hehe

I got into stamping through some of my coworkers at the school I taught at and never looked back. It's been wonderful getting to watch your cards crow and change into true pieces of art! Here's to another wonderful blog year!

Congrats on your second blogoversary - I've just passed one and am having a ball as well! My first cards were our Christmas cards in 2008. Making 60 of those suckers took it out of me so I didn't pick it back up again until March '09, lol. Good luck in all of your adventures!!
