Tools for sale

While I was taking this break from blogging, I also took the time to think where this craft of card making is going to take me.

I started loving letterpress quite a bit. Over these years, I realized that I love one-layer cards and simple designs.

That's why I have decided to sell some of my tools and supplies.

I have two of them listed on Etsy:

I'll be listing some more tools and supplies in the next days.

A little bit of an update

Hello everyone!

I'd like to ease your mind from the start: no one hacked in my computer. It's been broken for two months, anyway, so no chance.

It's me.

Long time, no write. Bad, bad me! I have excuses, though! (of course I have!)

We moved. My laptop broke. We went to Romania for 6 weeks. We had to rest for a week after coming back from our vacation with my family. Next vacation: on a God-forgotten island in the Pacific.

How I missed looking at some eye-pleasing, heart-melting beautiful cards. Tonight, I finally can because my husband gave in to my nagging and drove for 5 hours total to get to an Apple store in to get my laptop fixed.

What in the world am I doing in a place with no Apple store, I do not know.

That's why we decided to move. No, not for the Apple store, but wouldn't that be awesome to have the freedom to just pick up and move? Of course, when you feel that you are not quite in the right place.

Being in Romania, we realized that we couldn't live there (it was on our list...), but I used to look at people leaning over their kitchen windows in this torn country and envy them: they were at home, with good and bad. We weren't there yet.

We considered three locations: Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Stuttgart, Germany, Portland, Oregon, United States. We scratched off Cluj and Stuttgart and we have our destination!

How awesome is that?!

We love to live close to nature, we love biking, walking, living healthy! Do we love rain?! I don't know yet...:-) Has anyone been or lived there? I would appreciate any advice or bit of information that could help us be realistic in our expectations of Portland.

I've been meaning to write a little bit of an update and I'm glad I got it off my chest!

Hello again!

Since I've already had the "colours" for ColourQ #75 out on my desk...I went ahead and made another card for this challenge.

CPS #208 and ColourQ #75

Hello everyone!

I'll try to knock two challenges out of the way, something I haven't done in a long time!
CPS-Card Sketches #208 and ColourQ #75.

Here is my card:

Patterned paper seems to save my life quite a lot lately, because I realized I don't have as many ink pads as I would like. Or definitely not in these colo(u)rs.

Anyone have a good suggestion where I would get some good inks? I used to get my inks from PTI, but some of them are not up to my expectations (and I think they interrupted their ink line). Are Stampin' Up! inks good?

I'm afraid I'll have to keep it short today, since I already hear my little boy making noise from the other room. He must be awake!

*Running, running*, gasping for air...I'm almost there!

It's a perfect spring weather in southern Texas, that's why Mircea and I take full advantage of it and take as many walks as we can, before the brutal heat decides to come and stay for 6 months!

Not being able to be outdoors for longer than 5 minutes in the summer is one of the hardest things for me here. I love being outside, love my hiking boots!

I can tell you that we found the perfect toddler stroller: Jeep Cherokee Sport Stroller (at least Mircea "drives" something more "sophisticated" ha ha). I was looking for a lightweight stroller, easy to use while traveling, especially in airports, but I wasn't all that crazy about plain bare-bones umbrella strollers. Now I feel more confident traveling with Mircea to Romania in May. So excited to introduce Mircea to my side of the family. My dad and brother have never seen my son in person. Two more months...not that long!

Strolling through life

Hello everyone!

I have come to accept the inevitable.

That I don't get around much to make cards for challenges and, since I still want to write posts once in a while, I have to find other subjects.

Like...my son Mircea, for example! I never get tired talking about him and, with him growing almost overnight, I have the work cut out for me, when it comes with topics to write about. (I swear. Every morning he seems a couple of inches bigger than when I put him to bed the night before. Do night fairies pull him in all directions while he sleeps?)

Yesterday we finally came to accept that he is not a baby anymore and bought a "big boy" stroller for him. He loves it. He looks at me like "Mom, you finally get it, I love being able to sit up straight and look around me unencumbered." Yes, he thought that exact word, because he's the smartest.

People usually have a couple of other people they want to get on the good side with. A moody boss, a severe father, a boy or a girl they want to impress.

But everyone, EVERYONE wants to be liked by a baby.

When I go out with Mircea, I can get away with pretty much everything. (Just to be clear: I'm NOT trying to get away withe everything, I have just realized I could.) I've never been treated better. People open up to me. I found out in two minutes what is the favorite food of the 6 year old boy boy of the nice lady that was helping me with the deposit at the bank this morning. You know, she might be a total bitc..pain to everyone else around her, but with me, she wished I had more deposits to make so she can tell me about her 3 year old daughter, too.

Sorry, ma'am, I have to go, I must find about the kids of other strangers I have an appointment to meet today!

Handsome guys wave in my direction. I'm aware they don't even notice me and think that in this tech era strollers push themselves, but it looks good for the bigger picture. Everywhere I go, I can get on my knees, sit down on the floor, talk that annoying baby talk. (The sad thing is, it IS annoying when someone else does it for more that 30 seconds, but when I am doing it, I just can't stop, I'm sorry. Maybe YOU should stop eavesdropping at my private conversation with my baby.)

And all this because of Mircea's four teeth wide smile he generously spreads around him.

(You know what I mean?)

I'm sure I could get away with killing someone. Because it's true. There is an instinct growing and growing, since I've held this little bundle in my arms for the first time.

If anyone tries to harm my baby, that person will die.

Not the civilized, painless death. That is only for those who accidentally do something to hurt him. For the others who can bring themselves to hurt a child (something I will never ever understand), I've already have a full fantasy in place, of how I would t o r t u r e them first and let the buzzards finish off my work.

Now back to the fuzzy warm cuddly stuff about my baby.

He is going to be 1 in less than 2 weeks. Oh my.

He's ready to take all this world in. He has started walking (with my help), reaching farther than I feel comfortable with, being irresistibly attracted to outlet plugs, cellphones and generally everything that shines and makes noise.

Aren't we all?
