Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #38

I think I like having Kristina's Challenge closer to the end of the week. :-)

I never thought I would use pink and orange shade in one card, but look, I did it! :-)

I'm not quite satisfied with the pictures I take. I  have a fairly new camera, I must be doing something that I shouldn't or must be not doing something that I should.

{Forever} Card ~ 5 1/4 x 5 1/4

As always....
  • Card stock and patterned paper from Paper Studio;
  • Brads from Paper Studio;
  • Ribbon from RibbonFX;
  • Paper flower from K&C Company;
  • Sticker with {Forever} from Paper Studio;
I admit that I haven't shopped for card supplies anywhere else besides Hobby Lobby. I started looking around on the internet, to broaden my stamp and paper horizon. If you had a good, great, awesome experience with some things you found, I would love it if you shared it with me.

Look up the challenge and the other (awesome, I assure you!) entries HERE.

A card for DBU

Jen del Muro celebrates the New Year and New Look of her blog by giving away a HUGE blog tart giveaway. It made my eyes "drool" :-). So I decided to participate, by making a card for the international students at Dallas Baptist University.

It would be awesome if you would like to send a card to DBU and enter to win Jen's Blog Tart Giveaway!

I have been an "international student" twice in my life, so  I know how it is to be in a new place, new country, new continent!!, I know how it feels to not know anyone, so I decided to make a card with the sentiment "You're invited!"

Materials I used:
  • paper from Paper Studio;
  • ribbon from RibbonFX;
  • stamp from Say it with Stamps!
I followed a pretty classic look.

Wouldn't be awesome if one day, someone stumbled upon my blog and exclaimed: "I got this card!" ?? :-)

Sweet Baby!

I enjoyed making baby cards these past two weeks! One of the girls I worked with had baby girl and one of my best friends is going to have a baby boy next week sometimes, if the calculations are right.

This time I tried some asymmetrical cards, as far as the outside goes and I really like how they turned out! :-)

Sweet Baby! Card ~ 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

  • Card stock from Core'dinations ~ Nostalgia Collection;
  • Paper from Paper Studio (Baby Pink Paisley/ Blue Paisley; Baby Pink Diamond; Baby Blue Stripes);
  • Stamps from Stampabilities ("Buggy Boogie") and Say it with Stamps ("Congratulations!");
  • Blue and Pink Paper Clips from Office Depot;
  • Two pearly flowers I saved from a gift bag I received;
  • Black / Burgundy Double Satin / Pink Double Satin Ribbon from RibbonFX;
  • Round Scalloped Punch 1 7/8 inch diameter;
  • Scissors from Paper Studio.

I'm always looking for fresh ideas for theme cards, baby ones in this case, and I would appreciate if you would point me to some good ones!

~ Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon, as I am preparing to post a video about one way to make a gift card holder! ~

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #37

I love Kristina's challenges because they pull me away from my favorite color combinations - that I always end up with when making a card - and stretch my creative nerve.

"You touched my heart" Card -  51/4 x 51/4

I used  Core'dinations paper for the base of this card, as well as for the hearts accents and the dots. I used paper from the Paper Studio (Serendipity collection) as the background. The white stitched ribbon is from RibbonFX.

I had to struggle with the computer for a little while, but I really wanted to be a part of the #34 challenge. So I'm just going to post the pictures of the cards, then take a nap (so very tired....), then go to our church Christmas pageant, then come and add some more information to this post.

~ Thank You!~

Tea Bags Advent Calendar

My husband is a big tea drinker. So I thought I would make an Advent Calendar out of tea bags.

For this I needed:

~ a few of different kind of tea bags (according to how many days there are 'till Christmas);

~ punched tags out of cardstock ( I like the scalloped punch, but you can use any kind of shape);

~ glue;

~ any kind of numbers: rub-ons, embellishments...your choice;

~ tiny Christmas decorations that would fit on the new tag.

I glued the original tea tag in between two scalloped tags. Then on top I glued a punched patterned paper, then rubbed on the numbers, along with some snowflakes. Then I decorated the original tea box in Christmas colors. I went on the simple side, with the colors that my husband loves, but you can go as jolly as you like!!!

I also kept the tea kinds secret, so my husband has a nice surprise every December morning! :)

My first Color Inspiration Challenge - Kristina Werner's #33

"My first"...I have said these words a lot lately, since I decided to stretch my horizons in Card Making and take up on some challenges.

For this one I have the impression I am swimming with the big "sharks", but I hope they won't mind a little fish floating along! :-)

The colors took me aback a little, but I still dug in my card stock and paper stash and picked the best one I could find.

I used:

~ ColorCore for the pumpkin orange card stock;
~ DMD - Paper Revelations for Teal;
~ DCWV for the light teal and celery patterned paper;
~ RibbonFX satin brown;
~ White snowflake from....shoot, I threw the package away...

~Thanks for the inspiration!~
